U8s 1 – St James Falcons 2

The match was rather brisk and the loyal support kept themselves moving to keep warm. Meanwhile, the boys went down 1-0 down early with Johnny going off feeling out of sorts. The greens had a number of chances and near misses with Cian, Daniel and others going close but it just wouldn’t go in.

We went into halftime still 1-0 down. It was all change in personnel for the 2nd half and the Falcons scored again mid way through to go 2-0 up. After some persistent tackling by Lewis and Shaylin the ball broke for Sam who ran through to score (‘slot it’ are the right words he tells me!)

A number of excellent saves by James kept them out but Westwood Park weren’t able to pull it back and the game finished 1-2.
