Another excellent display by the Under 10s

Hi All, I just have to say that the U10s produced their best ever footballing display in our 2-2 draw at St James Panthers yesterday 24.10.09.

The team were absolutely awesome and I still cannot believe we drew the game, just shows how cruel football can be as the Panthers scored two goals against the run of the play in the second half after a 1-0 half-time lead for us. 2 moments of bad marking cost us dearly but cannot detract from a fantastic display of passing all round movement and excellent defending.

On a windy, wet morning and kicking-off playing uphill the boys were completely on their game, keepoing their shape, holding the ball well and passsing fantastically and we got ouir just rewards when Joshua Bailey scored after an excellent move. Joshua, Guy Baverstock and Adam Forster again ran the midfield and Aaron Browne produced another excellent display up front, picking up virtually every through ball and holding it up to get support from midfield.

Louis Baffoe had an excellent game in goal, commanding his penalty area and distributing the ball really well. Toby Dover and Ethan Hazell played well at the back, dealing well with a strong forward who was constantly looking to get behind them for a long through ball.

After the excellent first-half we started the second half a little slowly and were made to pay with an equaliser after a bit of poor marking.

We struck back well, atarting to play excellently and Guy produced a fantastic shot from outside the area after a weak clearance which the goalkeeper reached but couldn’t prev emnt going into the top corner.

Towards the end of another half dominated by our team a moment of poor marking from a corner led to their eqauliser and despite valiant efforts to get the winner the panthers held on for a draw.

Our better play finally paid dividends in the friendly which we won easily 4-1 with Ethan getting his first goal for the club.

Well done boys on an excellent display and maintaining our unbeaten start to the season!!!!!!
