Team
Charles, Aaron, Robert W, Joe, Luke B, Guy, Milan, Arjan & Joss

Match 1
Here we were back at my least favourite of grounds purely for the fact of the sloping pitches! The match started at a very quick pace with the ball travelling from end to end. Arjan worked well in defence as usual stopping every ball or player that tried to get past him. Robert had great energy making darting runs and passing the ball with pinpoint precision. Milan provided the tough tackling to stop their players and Charles, who was in goal for the first half, distributed the ball well.. The second half saw Joss go in goal protected by Arjan and Robert. Charles drove forward and helped out in defence. With only a couple of minutes gone Robert made a good pass to Guy who slotted home giving the goalkeeper no chance. They now started to pile on the pressure and eventually it paid off with their lone striker scoring the equaliser.

Match 2

This match started a little late due to a bit of confusion as to who was to referee the second game. As the other game had kicked off and with nobody stepping forward Paul volunteered to referee this game as well. Again this game started at full pelt with some really nice passing made by both teams. Midway through the first half one of their players broke past our defence and scored a good goal. Robert had no chance to stop that one. A few minutes went by with both teams pressing for a goal when Aaron laid a great ball onto Joss who threaded it through for Charles to equalise.

In the second half Aaron went on one of his mazey runs where he beat about four players and deserved to score but unfortunately this was not to be. Joe and Luke B worked really well together passing with great accuracy. And Guy, who had said he wasn’t good in goal, made two fine saves, one of which was a one on one. Milan worked hard up front, giving their defenders plenty to think about. With only about thirty seconds to go they scored only for us to equalise straight from kick off from Luke B, assisted by Charles and Joss.

I think both games were quite even and we may have just won both games if we had kept our positions better as all of their goals came when we only had one defender in position. Having said that we played some lovely football and saw lots of smiling faces out there especially when we scored.

Well done lads

Wayne & Paul
