Team

Kaushal, Alex J, Adam, Arjan, Andreas, Matthew, Charlie, Lucas & Robert O

Match 1

This was my first time in charge of the Buddy so was looking forward to the matches ahead.

We started the game well attacking their defence from kick off. Charlie slotted a nice through ball up to Matthew only for the goalkeeper to save. Charlie was covering good ground in his midfield position helping out up front and in defence. Lucas, Alex and Arjan worked hard in defence not letting Loudwater through. Just before halftime Charlie again makes a good pass to Arjan who finds himself up the other end of the pitch. He hits a fine left foot (what else) shot just passed the post.

After a good first half I was hoping it continued. Straight away Alex burst out of defence making a surging run towards Loudwaters goal only to be tackled before he could shoot. Lucas was proving to be a great right back defending really well. Robert O was covering good ground enjoying his midfield position which I think he enjoys and does well in. We started pressing their defence with Andreas and Alex pushing up which nearly resulted in a goal from Charlie. In the last five minutes I think the team fell asleep as Loudwater pressed with Kaushal making three fine saves. Unfortunately, two lucky strikes just crept over the line. Their final goal was a great strike from outside of the area which Kaushal had no chance of saving.

Match 2

Firstly I must thank Matthew for volunteering to go in goal for both halves of this game as no one else wanted to. Thanks Matthew! We started off well pushing straight up in their half. Then it was Loudwaters turn to pressure us resulting in their first corner. Unluckily, the ball spun off Alex’s foot in to the top corner of the goal. We responded well with Alex and Adam dribbling past several players but losing the ball before making a pass. We penned them in to their half for a while but could not make it count. Robert and Charlie were making some decisive runs and lovely passes. Lucas and Arjan defended well at left and right back making some important tackles. Kaushal held his central position really well blocking a couple of shots and making important tackles. Andreas was full of energy supplying Alex and Adam who both were unlucky to score. Loudwater started to put the pressure on and scored two good goals.

The boys tried their best and did not deserve to lose the first game. A little work is needed on releasing the ball early and keeping hold of each players position. This is something we can work on and I am sure all will achieve.

Thanks boys

Paul
