Match 1
Squad: Stuart, Daniel, Leo, Aidan, Patrick, Ollie, Callum
Subs: Dante, Adam
Result: 0-0

This was our second match in the Chiltern Church league at home to Holy Trinity Hotspur. It was another pleasing performance from the boys with lots of hard work and energy from everyone. Their enthusiasm was again great to see and I was really pleased with how well we defended especially in the second half with the slope against us. Stuart in goal did really well and used his area, with Daniel, Leo (Dante in the second half) providing a solid defence to the Hotspurs slightly larger and more physical attack. There was some great performances from our midfield, notably Patrick who showed determination, energy and skill repeatedly. Aidan and Ollie (Adam in the second half) all showed some great touch from boys this young and certainly held their own in a game which did become a bit of a midfield battle at times. Although there were few real scoring opportunities (particularly in the second half) it was still a really satisfying result. Well done boys!

Match 2
Squad: Leo, Dante, Sebastian, Hargun, Bari, Charlie, Adam
Subs: Ollie, Daniel
Result: 0-3

In the second match we had a complete change in line-up with Leo in goal, Dante and Sebastian in defence with Hargun, Bari, Charlie and Adam filling the midfield and attacking roles. Although we were on the losing side the boys worked really hard for the whole match and never stopped trying even when going behind. The three goals really came from our mistakes more than Holy Trinity’s attacking play, with a penalty conceded being the only goal in the first half. Again with the slope against us in the second half the boys were up against it from the Holy Trinity’s more physical presence. The defence worked hard again with Bari showing great determination, supported by Daniel coming back on. Our attacking play was a little scarce but Adam’s was the stand out performance. Showing skill and great running with the ball down the right hand flank, he was our main threat which led to our best chance to pull a goal back through a penalty which sadly we couldn’t convert. Despite the result this was a really good performance from our boys who kept their heads up and never gave up.
