Our U9s ‘Wildcats’ team have won the 2015 Chorleywood 7 a side Tournament!

In our group stage we faced AC Finchley North, Sarrat Rebels and Bessingby Park Rangers. The boys drew 1 and won 2 in the group stage, topping their group with some closely fought matches. The results: 1-1 against Finchley. 1-0 against Sarratt and 2-1 against Bessingby.

In the quarter finals we faced Bessingby Park Rangers Jaguars (their other team) winning 1-0 with some fantastic passing setting up a great goal. We then faced Everrett Blues in the semi-final, winning 2-0 with a thoroughly dominant performance from start to finish barely leaving their half of the pitch. For the final the boys faced Harpenden with a very close and evenly matched game ending in a 0-0 draw. This sent the final straight into a tense penalty shootout, with Westwood Park coming out on top 3-0. A thoroughly deserved win to claim our first ever piece of silverware.

It was fantastic to see how well they all performed, scoring 10 goals (including the 3 penalties) and conceding only 2 throughout the whole tournament. This was testament to their hard work in pressing the opposition relentlessly. Coupled with solid defending, dependable keeping, some great runs down both flanks and dominating the middle of the pitch they thoroughly deserved their victory. Well done boys.
